چکیده
Introduction : Abnormal scar recurrence can occur and often be greater than pre-excision because the rate is giving a high percentage. Data about keloid hypertrophic are rarely found in Indonesia. Therefore, it necessary to conduct research related abnormal scar, aims determine incidence of support future by valuable data. Method A retrospective descriptive study that evaluated post-excision patients from 2018 2020 using medical records. Result The sixteen cases had varied age with highest number presentations late adolescence (17-25 years) (31%). Comparison male (56%) female (44%) were 1.28:1. distribution scars based on type 11 (69%) keloids rest total 5 (31%) predominantly ear (38%). Strategies therapy most commonly excision only (50%), followed steroid injection combination Conclusion: This exemplifies case scar. Our findings indicate there differences surgical strategy, such as wound closure techniques. Most them was experienced more 1 recurrence. Furthermore, therapy, injection, which used after this case, did not appear prevent

Scanning electronmicroscopy of hypertrophic and keloid scar.
The scanning electronmicroscopic appearances of hypertrophic and keloid scar before and after treatment, mature scar and normal skin have been investigated. There is a graduation of features such as collagen orientation and fibre size which accompanies the clinical maturation from the active hypertrophic state into mature scar, a process which is hastened but not materially altered by treatment...
متن کاملThe molecular basis of keloid and hypertrophic scar formation.
Excess scar formation secondary to traumatic or surgical injuries can have devastating consequences, ranging from body disfigurement to organ dysfunction. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are skin fibrotic conditions that can be caused by minor insults to skin, such as acne or ear piercing, or by severe injuries such as burns. Differences between keloids, hypertrophic scars and normal scars inclu...
متن کاملKeloid or hypertrophic scar: the controversy: review of the literature.
Keloid and hypertrophic scars are 2 types of excessive scarring observed clinically that require different therapeutic approaches. The clinical course and physical appearance define keloids and hypertrophic scars as separate entities; however, they are often confused because of an apparent lack of morphologic differences. Nevertheless, clinical differences between hypertrophic scars and keloids...
متن کاملTopical mitomycin C in the prevention of keloid scar recurrence.
OBJECTIVE To assess the ability of mitomycin C to prevent the recurrence of surgically excised keloid scars. Mitomycin C has been successfully used to prevent scar tissue formation at the site of subglottic stenosis in the field of pediatric otolaryngology. It appears that mitomycin C interferes with the ability of fibroblasts to produce a scar without causing changes in epithelialization. DE...
متن کاملHuman hypertrophic and keloid scar models: principles, limitations and future challenges from a tissue engineering perspective
Most cutaneous wounds heal with scar formation. Ideally, an inconspicuous normotrophic scar is formed, but an abnormal scar (hypertrophic scar or keloid) can also develop. A major challenge to scientists and physicians is to prevent adverse scar formation after severe trauma (e.g. burn injury) and understand why some individuals will form adverse scars even after relatively minor injury. Curren...
